Detailed instructions for installing Caret on your Mac
Installing Caret
This guide will walk you through the process of installing Caret on your Mac and setting up the necessary permissions.
System Requirements
Caret is currently available for macOS only. Windows and Linux versions are planned for future releases.
To run Caret, you’ll need:
- macOS 12.0 (Monterey) or later
- At least 4GB of RAM
- 200MB of available storage space
- Active internet connection
Download and Install
Download Caret
Download the latest version of Caret from our download page.
Open the installer
Locate the downloaded file (Caret.dmg) in your Downloads folder and double-click to open it.
Drag to Applications
Drag the Caret app icon to the Applications folder when prompted.
Launch Caret
Open your Applications folder and double-click on the Caret app to launch it.
You may see a warning about opening an app from an unidentified developer. If this happens, right-click (or Control-click) on the Caret app and select “Open” from the context menu, then click “Open” in the dialog that appears.
Grant Permissions
Caret needs several permissions to function properly. You’ll be prompted to grant these during your first launch.
